Mecha Cruiser Undocks!

Finally finished is the C8-C Cruiser. Now ready to add to the Mecha fleets. This new style of Mecha cruiser prooved difficult to get to feel right. But happy with the end result it has been added to the ever growing ranks of Star Fall Miniatures.

Miniature Images At Last!

It has been a while and it is about time to add some images for you to see:

Our first twelve miniatures to supplement the Star Fall Miniature Wargames Rules.

Cruiser Price Crunch

The confederate cruiser has had a substantial price crunch. It is now at a reasonable price. We managed to shave off $3 from it’s price! We have managed to maintain the original shape and size. The Mecha cruiser, the C8-C has not been so fortunate. We found that the dimensions were too big for the cruiser sizes. And the current Mecha cruiser does not sit well with the design team. So it will be going through it’s third re-design. Hopefully that will be ready for next week.

Last of the Frigates

At long last the final frigate hits the shelves. The Polarian Pulsar Frigate. Although this ship has been for sale for a few weeks now, we have been unable to update our site due to a hic-up between us and our service provider. All this sorted now and life can go on as normal.

The Polarian is a the last of the frigate support ships of our Star Fall range miniatures. But work does not stop there. The Colonial Falcon cruiser, is undergoing intensive work. We are hoping to reduce the final cost of this miniature to a more cost effective result.

Also good news…
The rules have been finalised and layout work on our rules system has began. Pressure is building within the design team. Miniatures need producing so they can be painted, for photographing to include within the rues. Front cover needs to be designed, also needs miniatures for this. So work is in full swing.

New Frigate

The latest in our Star Fall Miniatures line is the Ka’nin frigate.

The k’ul class frigate is the second Star Fall Armada Frigate to hit the shelves. It can be viewed in full 3d by following the links from our miniatures page link at the top of this page.

Today we have revisited the close assault rules and we have to be honest in saying that these are a nice addition to our growing set of rules. The first edit of the rules should finish next week. What we plan to do then is to lay the rules out in the book and start to have them ready for production.

On the miniatures side of things we will also be having the Colonial frigate ready next week. It was almost ready this week, but just did not meet the deadline. If we are really lucky maybe the colonial frigate and Polarian Frigate will arrive for sale at the shop.

The shells of both the colonial ‘arrow hawk’ and ‘buzzard’ landers are ready for hollowing, but were put on the back burner due to the interest shown in our starship range. This was since we started to advertise ourselves on SCN. But I’m confident that the ground forces will be advertised on an appropriate sites once the rules have been agreed on.

The ground force department are eager to see a range of infantry so the pressure is on as the game gets closer to having a release date.

MX1-F Frigate now available.

The latest Mecha ship, the MX1-F Frigate has become available on our store at safe ways. Follow our link to our store on the miniatures page.

The MX1 is the first frigate to appear and the third Mecha vessel out of the initial 5 ships to be designed for each faction. Although this is only half of the Mecha range, the other half will become later once the rules have become available.

We did not initially want the range to be available in dribs and drabs, but wanted to use this initial set to open our store and kick start our site. Once we have managed to get out the four factions starting ships, along side their ground forces. The final vessels will become available before we start on the next Starfall project.

We believe in producing a full range of miniatures for our game, so that everyone can get the fullest playing experience from the rules and miniatures we create.

Cost reduction

The cost reduction process has been a hard but successful project. The tanks have now reached final selling price. The cruisers and destroyers are proving more tricky. We will not give up on them, and continue to chip away until we are satisfied with their final pricing. Also the Mecha transport walker is undergoing major cost reductions.

That said we have decided to continue with miniature production, with a new approach that makes any cost changes easier to deal with form the outset of miniature design. Already the new frigate was able to meet industry standard pricing with the minimal of tweaking.

Although the starship side of cost reduction presents more of a challenge. That is what we are viewing it as. We will continue design and production in the meantime. Therefore all ships will remain available and we will update the miniatures as we Shave off excess plastic to reduce the cost.

Thank you for your Patience and support.

Miniature costs

Progress has been made at reducing the costs of the miniatures. So far the cestus light tank, ground hog APC, sabre medium tank and the Mecha HT2 Walker are undergoing ‘hollowing’ to bring down the price to match current trends.

These are not alone, our range of destroyers will be ‘trimmed’ along with the cruisers.

Once these have all met the final target price, and only when, we will continue with the range.

We prefer to produce a range of affordable miniatures then just a new range of miniatures which are far too expensive.

6mm epic scale

We have decide that we should focus on the one scale for the time being. Provide a fully comprehensive collection before venturing onto new ideas.

So 6mm 1/300th scale or also know as epic scale. Will be the focus of our ground forces for the time being.

Star Fall is going to concentrate on a armoured warfare theatre with rules for infantry support. The future will see 15mm battalion scale and 25mm platoon scale. But this is way in the future.

Since we are on the topic of rules. They are shaping up nicely bringing back tactics and reaction play back into war games, whilst maintaining an easy to follow set of core rules. Most importantly maintaining the enjoyment of the game and hobby as a whole.

6mm or 15mm

We are currently working on some 15mm scale miniatures while also working on 6mm scale miniatures. While 6mm is appealing allowing a lot of armour on the filed. 15mm allows for better detailed miniatures, and more infantry if the player so wishes.

The problem still exists, can we produce miniatures in this scale at a Competitive price. So far our designers are working to reduce the cost of our 6mm range. We are aware that the current trend of war-gaming is 15mm. With this in mind, we have sent a researcher into the midst of the players, to discover what is the favoured scale.

Good news is that the next phase of ground force and space warfare, are some frigates, Heavy Cruisers, VTOLS, and light walkers.

We have also started the first phase of marines. But how these will turn out will depend largely on final agreed scale.

As for the rules, the finished draft copy has been pasted into the book. Rigorous editing is taking place to ensure you get the best possible edition we can provide. This will allow us to concentrate on support books and scenarios.

With this to wet your pallet we leave you to ponder what our next designs will look like.
